Braised Pork Chops
Tender pork chops braised in a savory sour cream sauce with caramelized onions and fresh dill. This classic Eastern European comfort dish is moist, flavorful, and perfect served over mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops (bone-in, 1-inch thick)
- to taste salt and black pepper
- 2 tbsps butter
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1.5 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard

Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper.

Melt 2 tbsps butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown 4 pork chops (bone-in, 1-inch thick) for 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, add 1 medium sliced onion and cook until softened and caramelized, about 5 minutes.

Pour in 1.5 cups beef broth and scrape up any browned bits. Return pork chops to the skillet.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes until pork chops are cooked through.

Remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 cup sour cream and 1 tsp Dijon mustard. Gently warm through without boiling.

Top with 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill and serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
