Ingredients

  • 4 limes fresh limes, juiced
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (equal parts sugar and hot water, cooled)
  • 1.5 cups chilled soda water or sparkling water
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 4 slices lime slices (for garnish), thinly sliced

    Juice 4 limes fresh limes to yield fresh lime juice. Discard seeds.

    To make simple syrup if not pre-made: combine equal parts sugar and hot water, stir until dissolved, and let cool completely.

    In a pitcher or shaker, combine the lime juice, 1/4 cup simple syrup (equal parts sugar and hot water, cooled), and 1/8 tsp salt. Stir or shake briefly.

    Fill glasses with 2 cups ice cubes. Pour the lime mixture over the ice, filling glasses halfway.

    Top with 1.5 cups chilled soda water or sparkling water and stir gently.
