French 75
A celebratory classic from 1920s Paris that combines gin, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup then tops the whole thing with Champagne. Elegant, effervescent, and dangerously easy to drink.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz London dry gin
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 3 oz dry Champagne or Prosecco, chilled
- as needed ice cubes
- 1 lemon twist (for garnish)
Instructions

Chill a Champagne flute or coupe glass.

Fill a cocktail shaker with as needed ice cubes.

Add 1 1/2 oz London dry gin, 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice, and 1/2 oz simple syrup to the shaker.

Shake vigorously for about 10-12 seconds until well chilled.

Strain into the chilled Champagne flute.

Top gently with 3 oz chilled dry Champagne or Prosecco, pouring slowly to preserve the bubbles.
