Root Beer Float
An iconic American soda fountain classic with creamy vanilla ice cream floating in frosty root beer, creating a frothy, nostalgic treat in minutes.
Ingredients
- 24 oz root beer (well chilled)
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- as needed whipped cream (optional)
- 2-4 maraschino cherries (optional garnish)

Chill two tall glasses in the freezer for at least 5 minutes for best results.

Place two scoops of vanilla ice cream into each chilled glass.

Slowly pour 24 oz root beer (well chilled) over the ice cream, tilting the glass slightly to control the foam. Pour slowly to prevent overflow — the carbonation will cause the foam to rise quickly.
