Air Fryer Stuffed French Toast Sticks
Thick-cut brioche sticks stuffed with sweetened cream cheese, dipped in a cinnamon-vanilla egg custard, and air-fried to a golden, custard-soft interior with a lightly crisped exterior.
Ingredients
- 8 slices brioche or Texas toast bread, cut into 1-inch thick sticks
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp granulated sugar
- as needed cooking spray (neutral oil)
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup (for serving)

In a small bowl, mix 4 oz softened cream cheese, 2 tbsp powdered sugar, and half the pure vanilla extract until smooth.

Cut a pocket lengthwise into each cut into 1-inch thick sticks brioche or Texas toast bread stick, being careful not to cut all the way through. Fill each pocket with a teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture and press gently to close.

In a shallow bowl, whisk 3 large eggs, 1/4 cup whole milk, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 2 tsp granulated sugar, and the remaining pure vanilla extract together until combined.

Dip each stuffed bread stick into the egg mixture, letting it soak for about 5 seconds per side.

Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C) for 3 minutes. Spray the basket with cooking spray (neutral oil). Arrange the sticks in a single layer and spray the tops.

Cook at 370°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and set. Serve immediately with 1/4 cup pure maple syrup (for serving) for dipping.
