Country Ham and Biscuits
Flaky buttermilk biscuits filled with seared country ham slices. A warm and comforting classic breakfast favorite.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup cold buttermilk
- 12 oz country ham slices

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp kosher salt in a mixing bowl.

Cut 6 tbsp cold and cubed unsalted butter into the dry mixture until coarse crumbs form.

Pour in 3/4 cup cold buttermilk and stir until just combined.

Turn dough onto a floured surface, fold four times, roll to 3/4 inch thickness, and cut biscuits.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.

Warm 12 oz country ham slices in a skillet over medium heat until heated through and an internal temperature of 145 degrees F is reached.

Slice biscuits open and insert 12 oz country ham slices to serve.
