Pepernoten
Tiny, hard-crisp Dutch spice nuts made from a honeyed brown sugar dough, rolled into hazelnut-sized balls and baked until crunchy. They are handed out by the bucketful during the Sinterklaas season in December. Plan ahead: the dough keeps for 3 days in the fridge.
