Ingredients

  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
  • 4 oz silver (blanco) tequila
  • 2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 fresh jalapeno, sliced, seeds removed for less heat
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 2 tbsp coarse kosher or margarita salt (for rim)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 lime wedge (for rim)

Instructions

  1. 1

Run a 2 lime wedge (for rim) around the rim of each glass. Dip the rim in 2 tbsp coarse kosher or margarita salt (for rim) to coat. Fill glasses with 2 cups ice cubes and set aside.

  2. 2

Add 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon and 1 sliced, seeds removed for less heat fresh jalapeno to a blender. Blend on high until smooth, about 30 seconds.

  3. 3

Strain the watermelon-jalapeno mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing to extract all the juice. Discard solids.

  4. 4

Add 4 oz silver (blanco) tequila, 2 oz fresh lime juice, 2 oz triple sec or Cointreau, and 1 oz simple syrup to the pitcher. Stir well.

  5. 5

Pour over the salted ice-filled glasses. Garnish with a jalapeno slice and lime wedge and serve immediately.
