Air Fryer Churro Waffles
Crispy, cinnamon-sugar coated waffles made in the air fryer that taste like Mexican churros. These sweet breakfast treats are served with a rich chocolate dipping sauce for an indulgent morning meal.
Ingredients
- 8 biscuits refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count can)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- as needed cooking spray

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with as needed cooking spray.

In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 2 tsp ground cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.

Take each 8 biscuits refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count can) and flatten it slightly with your palm. Use a small cup or round cookie cutter to cut a hole in the center to create a donut shape.

Place the biscuit "donuts" in the air fryer basket, making sure they don't touch. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook in batches.

Air fry for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

While the waffles are cooking, prepare the chocolate sauce: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/4 cup heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth. Stir in 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.

When the waffles are done, immediately brush both sides with melted 1/4 cup melted butter, then coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
