Chicken Puffs
Flaky puff pastry encases a savory, creamy chicken filling seasoned with herbs and spices. These delightful bites are perfect as an appetizer or a light snack.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp water

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, combine 3 cups shredded cooked chicken breast, 8 oz softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup chicken broth, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper, and 1 tsp dried parsley. Mix until well combined to create the chicken filling.

On a lightly floured surface, unroll 2 sheets thawed puff pastry. Cut each sheet into 9 squares (3x3 grid).

Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the chicken filling onto one half of each pastry square. Fold the other half of the pastry square over the filling to form a triangle or rectangle. Crimp the edges with a fork to seal.

In a small bowl, whisk together 1 large egg and 1 tsp water to make the egg wash.

Arrange the prepared chicken puffs on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with the egg wash.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. The internal temperature of the filling should reach 165°F (74°C).
