Jamaican Fried Plantains
Golden, crispy fried plantain slices with a tender interior, served as a beloved side dish or snack with a sprinkle of salt and lime.

- 4 plantains, peeled and sliced diagonally 1/4-inch thick
- 2 cups vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 lime (for serving), cut into wedges

Pat 4 plantains peeled and sliced diagonally 1/4-inch thick dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Heat 2 cups vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (a piece of plantain should sizzle immediately when added).

Working in batches to avoid crowding, carefully add plantain slices to the hot oil.

Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

Using a slotted spoon, transfer fried plantains to a paper towel-lined plate.
