Grilled Turkey Burgers with Avocado
Juicy grilled turkey patties seasoned with garlic and Worcestershire sauce, topped with creamy avocado slices, crisp lettuce, and ripe tomato on a toasted brioche bun.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground turkey (93% lean)
- 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- 2 ripe avocados, sliced
- 4 brioche burger buns, split
- 8 leaves butter lettuce leaves
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tsp fresh lime juice
Instructions
-
1
Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat (about 400 degrees F). Clean and oil the grates.
-
2
In a large bowl, gently combine 1.5 lbs ground turkey (93% lean), 2 cloves minced garlic cloves, 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp kosher salt, and 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper. Do not overwork the mixture. Divide into 4 equal patties about 3/4 inch thick, making a small dimple in the center of each.
-
3
Grill the patties for 5-7 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Do not press down on the patties while cooking.
-
4
During the last 2 minutes, place the 4 split brioche burger buns cut-side down on the grill and toast until golden.
-
5
While the burgers cook, toss 2 sliced ripe avocados with 2 tsp fresh lime juice to prevent browning.
-
6
Spread 4 tbsp mayonnaise on the toasted buns. Layer 8 leaves butter lettuce leaves, the cooked turkey patty, avocado, 1 sliced large tomato, and 1/2 thinly sliced red onion. Close and serve immediately.
