Hojicha Roasted Green Tea Latte

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp loose-leaf hojicha tea (or 4 hojicha tea bags)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups whole milk (or oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 2 tsp honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

    Combine 2 tbsp loose-leaf hojicha tea (or 4 hojicha tea bags) and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring just to a simmer and steep for 2 minutes. Strain or remove tea bags.

    Add 2 cups whole milk (or oat milk for dairy-free) to the saucepan. Heat over medium heat, whisking frequently, for 4 to 5 minutes until steaming hot but not boiling.

    If using loose leaf tea, strain through a fine mesh sieve into mugs.

    Stir in 2 tsp honey (or maple syrup) and 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract. Adjust sweetness to taste.
