Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp rose water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 2 tsp sweet basil seeds (sabja seeds)
  • 4 cups ice cubes
  • 2 tsp dried rose petals (for garnish)

Instructions

    Soak 2 tsp sweet basil seeds (sabja seeds) in 1/4 cup cold water for 10 minutes. They will swell and develop a gel-like coating.

    In a pitcher, combine 4 cups cold water and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.

    Stir in 4 tbsp rose water. Taste and adjust to your preference.

    Add the soaked basil seeds with their soaking water to the pitcher and stir gently.

    Pour over 4 cups ice cubes in glasses and garnish with 2 tsp dried rose petals (for garnish). Serve immediately.
