Watermelon Agua Fresca

A light and hydrating Mexican agua fresca made by blending fresh watermelon with lime juice and a touch of sugar, then straining it into a pitcher of cold water. Perfect for hot weather.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups seedless watermelon, cubed, rind removed
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 4 fresh mint sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions

    Add 6 cups cubed, rind removed seedless watermelon to the blender. Blend on high for 30 seconds until completely liquefied.

    Pour the blended watermelon through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher, pressing gently with a spoon to extract all the juice. Discard the pulp.

    Add 1/4 cup fresh lime juice and 2 tbsp granulated sugar to the strained juice. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves.

    Pour in 2 cups cold water and stir to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as desired.

    Fill glasses with 2 cups ice cubes, pour the agua fresca over the ice, and garnish with 4 fresh mint sprigs (for garnish). Serve immediately.
