Ingredients

  • 2 oz dried winter melon candy strips (dong gua tang)
  • 1/4 cup dried goji berries, rinsed
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 tbsp Chinese rock sugar (or honey, to taste)
  • 10 dried longan (optional, for depth)

Instructions

  1. 1

Combine 6 cups water, 2 oz dried winter melon candy strips (dong gua tang), 1/4 cup rinsed dried goji berries, and 10 dried longan (optional, for depth) (if using) in a medium saucepan.

  2. 2

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a gentle simmer. Cook for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  3. 3

Add 2 tbsp Chinese rock sugar (or honey, to taste) and stir until dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness.

  4. 4

Strain into cups or a teapot if desired, or leave the goji berries in as they are edible. Serve hot, or pour over ice for a chilled drink.
