Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • as needed ice cubes
  • 1 strip orange peel (for garnish)

Instructions

    Fill a mixing glass with as needed ice cubes.

    Add 1 1/2 oz bourbon or rye whiskey, 1 oz Campari, and 1 oz sweet vermouth to the mixing glass.

    Stir with a bar spoon for 25-30 seconds until well chilled and properly diluted.

    Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.

    Express the oils from 1 strip orange peel (for garnish) over the surface of the drink by pinching it skin-side down.

    Rub the peel around the rim of the glass, then drop it in or set it on the rim as garnish.
