Caprese Salad
A classic Italian salad made with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Simple yet elegant, it showcases the colors of the Italian flag.
Ingredients
- 4 vine-ripened tomatoes, sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 20 leaves fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze (or reduction)
- to taste sea salt
- to taste freshly ground black pepper

Arrange alternating slices of 4 sliced vine-ripened tomatoes and 8 oz sliced fresh mozzarella cheese on a serving platter or individual plates.

Tuck 20 leaves fresh basil leaves between the tomato and mozzarella slices.

Drizzle 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil over the arranged salad.
