Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen edamame in pods
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt (for boiling water)
  • 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt (such as Maldon)

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add 2 tbsp kosher salt (for boiling water) — the water should taste noticeably salty.

  2. 2

Add 1 lb frozen edamame in pods to the boiling water and cook for 5 to 6 minutes until pods are tender and beans are bright green and cooked through.

  3. 3

Drain in a colander and shake off excess water.

  4. 4

Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle immediately with 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt (such as Maldon) while still hot so the salt adheres. Toss to coat.

  5. 5

Serve warm or at room temperature. Squeeze beans directly from pods to eat.
