Ingredients

  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp gochujang paste
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 4 scallions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the 1 lb spaghetti until al dente, according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.

  2. 2

While the noodles cook, melt the 4 tbsp unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  3. 3

Add the 2 tbsp gochujang paste and 4 cloves minced garlic cloves to the melted butter and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant and deep red.

  4. 4

Stir in the 2 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp soy sauce, and 2 tsp toasted sesame oil, then add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.

  5. 5

Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss until every strand is coated, adding more pasta water as needed for a glossy sauce.

  6. 6

Remove from heat and divide among bowls. Top with 4 thinly sliced scallions and 2 tsp toasted sesame seeds before serving.
