Ham Biscuits
Flaky homemade buttermilk biscuits filled with savory sliced ham and honey mustard. Perfect as a classic Southern party appetizer or warm breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup cold buttermilk
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- 8 oz cooked ham slices, thinly sliced

Preheat oven to 425F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt.

Add 6 tbsp cold and cubed unsalted butter and work into the dry ingredients with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Pour in 3/4 cup cold buttermilk and stir gently until dough just comes together.

Turn dough onto a floured surface, pat to 3/4 inch thickness, and cut into biscuit rounds.

Place on baking sheet and bake for 12 to 14 minutes until golden brown.

In a small bowl, stir together 2 tbsp Dijon mustard and 1 tbsp honey.

Split warm biscuits, spread mustard mixture inside, layer with 8 oz thinly sliced cooked ham slices, and verify meat reaches an internal temperature of 145F before serving.
