Hot Apple Cider Float
Warm spiced apple cider ladled over a scoop of vanilla ice cream creates a cozy dessert drink where the hot and cold contrast makes it irresistible. A fall and winter seasonal treat that doubles as dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh apple cider (not sparkling)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 star anise (optional)
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (for garnish)
- 2 tbsp caramel sauce (for drizzle)

Combine 2 cups fresh apple cider (not sparkling), 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 whole cloves, and 2 star anise (optional) in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Heat the cider until it just begins to steam, about 8 minutes. Do not let it boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 2 more minutes to let the spices infuse.

Place one scoop of 2 scoops vanilla ice cream into each heat-safe mug.

Strain the hot spiced cider directly over the ice cream in each mug.

Immediately drizzle with 2 tbsp caramel sauce (for drizzle), dust lightly with 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (for garnish), and serve with a long spoon.
