Hot Chocolate
A rich and indulgent stovetop hot chocolate made with real cocoa powder and dark chocolate, sweetened to perfection and finished with a touch of vanilla.
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 oz dark chocolate (70% cacao), finely chopped, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- pinch pinch of salt
- as needed whipped cream (for topping)

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 tbsp granulated sugar, and pinch pinch of salt with a splash of whole milk to form a smooth paste.

Gradually pour in the remaining 2 cups whole milk, whisking constantly. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the milk is hot but not boiling (about 5 minutes).

Add 2 oz finely chopped dark chocolate (70% cacao), finely chopped and whisk until fully melted and incorporated.

Stir in 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract and remove from heat.

Pour into mugs and top with as needed whipped cream (for topping). Serve immediately.
