Meatball Sub
Juicy baked meatballs simmered in rich marinara sauce and melted provolone cheese inside toasted hoagie rolls.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 0.5 lb ground pork
- 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 0.25 cup grated Parmesan
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 8 provolone cheese slices
- 4 hoagie rolls, split

In a large bowl, mix 1 lb ground beef, 0.5 lb ground pork, 0.5 cup breadcrumbs, 1 beaten egg, 3 minced garlic cloves, and 0.25 cup grated Parmesan until combined.

Form the mixture into 12 meatballs and arrange them evenly on a lined baking sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

Warm 2 cups marinara sauce in a skillet over medium heat and simmer meatballs in sauce for 5 minutes.

Place 3 meatballs with sauce into each of the 4 split hoagie rolls, top with 8 provolone cheese slices, and broil for 2 minutes until cheese is melted.
