Pork and Vegetable Mandu
Traditional dumplings stuffed with seasoned ground pork, tofu, and chopped cabbage. Pan-fried and steamed to achieve a crispy bottom and juicy filling.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 7 oz firm tofu, squeezed dry
- 2 cups Napa cabbage, finely chopped
- 4 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 24 dumpling wrappers
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water

In a large bowl, combine 1 lb ground pork, 7 oz squeezed dry firm tofu, 2 cups finely chopped Napa cabbage, 4 stalks thinly sliced green onions, 2 tbsp minced garlic, 1 tsp minced fresh ginger, 2 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil.

Mix thoroughly until the ingredients form a uniform dumpling filling.

Place spoonfuls of filling onto 24 dumpling wrappers, moisten edges with water, and crimp to seal.

Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Place dumplings in the skillet and cook for 3 minutes until bottoms are golden brown.

Add 1/4 cup water, cover with a lid immediately, and steam for 5 minutes until the filling reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
