Salted Sweet Lassi
A classic Punjabi yogurt drink that balances sweet sugar with a pinch of salt and cumin, blended smooth and frothy. This cooling, digestive drink is the traditional companion to any rich Indian meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain whole-milk yogurt
- 1 cup cold water
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp fine salt
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin (roasted preferred)
- 1 cup ice cubes

Add 2 cups plain whole-milk yogurt, 1 cup cold water, 2 tbsp granulated sugar, 1/4 tsp fine salt, and 1/4 tsp ground cumin (roasted preferred) to a blender.

Add 1 cup ice cubes and blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth, frothy, and well combined.

Taste and adjust: add a touch more sugar for sweetness or a pinch more salt if desired.

Pour into tall glasses and serve immediately, sprinkled with a tiny pinch of cumin on top if desired.
