Alfredo Sauce
A luxuriously creamy Parmesan sauce made with butter, heavy cream, and freshly grated cheese. Ready in 15 minutes and perfect over fettuccine or as a base for pasta bakes and casseroles.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Instructions
-
1
Melt 4 tbsp unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 4 cloves minced garlic cloves and cook, stirring, for 1 minute until fragrant.
-
2
Pour in 2 cups heavy whipping cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the cream reduces slightly.
-
3
Reduce heat to low. Add 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese a handful at a time, stirring after each addition until fully melted and smooth.
-
4
Season with 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper, and 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg. Taste and adjust.

Use immediately tossed with hot pasta. If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of pasta cooking water to loosen.
