Apple Crumble
Tender spiced apples topped with a crisp, buttery oat crumble. A classic British dessert best served warm with custard or ice cream.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Bramley or Granny Smith apples, sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Toss 6 cups sliced Bramley or Granny Smith apples with 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, and 2 tsp lemon juice in a bowl.

Transfer the seasoned apples into an 8-inch square baking dish.

In another bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup rolled oats, and 1/2 cup light brown sugar.

Rub 6 tbsp cubed unsalted butter into the flour mixture using your fingers until coarse crumbs form.
