Ingredients

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 lime (cut into quarters), quartered
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2-3 oz soda water
  • as needed crushed ice, crushed
  • 1 mint sprig (for garnish)

Instructions

    In a highball glass, add 1 quartered lime (cut into quarters), 1 tbsp granulated sugar, and 8-10 fresh mint leaves.

    Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, gently muddle the ingredients to release the mint oils and lime juice. Do not over-muddle the mint.

    Add 2 oz white rum and stir to dissolve the sugar.

    Fill the glass with as needed crushed crushed ice and top with 2-3 oz soda water.

    Stir gently to mix the drink.

    Garnish with 1 mint sprig (for garnish) and serve.
