Crispy Fried Wontons
Golden wontons packed with seasoned pork and earthy mushrooms, deep fried to crunchy perfection. They make a savory appetizer paired with sweet chili sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1/4 cup dried wood ear mushrooms, minced
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
- 2 tsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 24 wonton wrappers
- 3 cups vegetable oil

Combine 1 lb ground pork, 1/4 cup minced dried wood ear mushrooms, 1/4 cup sliced green onions, 2 tsp fish sauce, and 1 tsp sesame oil in a bowl and mix well.

Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each of the 24 wonton wrappers, wet the edges with water, and fold into triangles to seal.

Heat 3 cups vegetable oil in a heavy pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350 degrees F.

Fry wontons in small batches for 3 minutes until golden and internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
