Tinto de Verano
A classic Spanish summer drink made with red wine and lemon soda, lighter and more refreshing than sangria. Served over ice, it is the go-to warm-weather drink across Spain.
Ingredients
- 2 cups dry Spanish red wine (or any light dry red)
- 2 cups lemon-lime soda (Sprite or similar), chilled
- as needed ice cubes
- 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
Instructions
-
1
Fill two tall glasses generously with ice cubes.
-
2
Pour 2 cups dry Spanish red wine (or any light dry red) evenly between the two glasses.
-
3
Top each glass with 2 cups chilled lemon-lime soda (Sprite or similar). Do not stir vigorously — a gentle swirl preserves the bubbles.
-
4
Garnish each glass with a round of 1 sliced into rounds lemon and serve immediately.
