Bife à Cavalo
Pan-seared thin sirloin steaks topped with sunny-side-up fried eggs and fragrant garlic. A classic hearty Brazilian steak dish that comes together in under twenty minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak, pounded thin
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper, ground
- 4 large eggs

Season 1 lb pounded thin sirloin steak evenly with 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, and 4 minced garlic cloves.

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add sirloin steak to the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 135F for medium-rare.

Transfer sirloin steak to warm plates and reduce skillet heat to medium.

Crack 4 large eggs into the skillet and fry for 2 to 3 minutes until whites are set but yolks remain runny.

Place fried eggs on top of sirloin steak and serve immediately.
