Black-Eyed Pea Dip
A warm and creamy Southern appetizer loaded with black-eyed peas, sharp cheddar cheese, and spicy jalapenos. Perfect for serving with tortilla chips or crackers at game day gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 cans canned black-eyed peas, drained
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 jalapeno pepper, minced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease an 8-inch square baking dish.

In a medium bowl, mash half of the 2 cans drained canned black-eyed peas with a fork, leaving the remaining peas whole.

Add the 8 oz softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup sour cream, 2 minced jalapeno pepper, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1/2 tsp ground cumin to the bowl, then stir until smooth.

Fold in half of the 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese along with the whole black-eyed peas.

Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar.

Bake for 20 minutes until melted and bubbly, then garnish with 4 thinly sliced green onions before serving.
