Classic Kotlety
Juicy pan fried meat cutlets made with ground pork and beef, soaked bread, and grated onion. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 2 slices white bread, crusts removed
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely grated
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper, ground

Soak 2 slices crusts removed white bread in 1/4 cup whole milk in a small bowl for 5 minutes until soft.

In a large bowl, combine 1/2 lb ground pork, 1/2 lb ground beef, squeezed crusts removed white bread, 1 medium finely grated yellow onion, 1 large beaten egg, 1 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp ground black pepper.

Mix the meat mixture thoroughly until smooth and cohesive, then shape into 8 oval patties.

Dredge each patty gently in 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs to coat all sides evenly.

Heat 3 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Fry patties for 5 to 7 minutes per side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
