Classic Lemonade
Perfectly balanced homemade lemonade made with freshly squeezed lemons and a simple syrup base. Bright, tart, and refreshing — miles better than the powdered kind.
Ingredients
- 10 lemons, juiced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup hot water, for simple syrup
- 4 cups cold water
- as needed ice
- as needed lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
-
1
Make simple syrup: stir 1 cup granulated sugar into 1 cup hot water in a heatproof bowl or pitcher until dissolved. Let cool.
-
2
Roll each lemon to loosen juice, then juice 10 lemons to yield about 1 cup. Strain to remove seeds.
-
3
In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and 4 cups cold water. Stir well.
-
4
Taste and adjust — add more lemon juice for tartness or more water if too strong.
-
5
Serve over ice with lemon slices as garnish.
