Classic Ranch Dressing
A thick and creamy homemade ranch dressing with buttermilk, fresh herbs, and garlic. Far better than bottled, it doubles as a dip for vegetables, wings, and pizza.
Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh chives, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup buttermilk, and 1/4 cup sour cream until smooth.

Stir in 2 tbsp chopped fresh dill, 2 tbsp minced fresh chives, 2 tbsp chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and 1/2 tsp onion powder.

Add 1 tsp fresh lemon juice and season with 1/2 tsp kosher salt and 1/4 tsp ground black pepper.

Whisk to combine thoroughly, then taste and adjust seasoning.

For dipping consistency, use as is. For a pourable dressing, thin with an additional splash of buttermilk.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Keeps for up to 1 week.
