Fried Bananas
Crispy fried bananas coated in a coconut and sesame batter. A popular street food treat that is crunchy on the outside and tender inside.
Ingredients
- 6 burro or baby bananas, sliced lengthwise
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 2 tbsp white sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup cold water
- 2 cups neutral frying oil

Combine 1/2 cup rice flour, 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut, 2 tbsp white sesame seeds, 2 tbsp granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp baking powder, and 1/4 tsp salt in a bowl.

Stir in 1/3 cup cold water to form a thick, smooth batter.

Heat 2 cups neutral frying oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Dip 6 sliced lengthwise burro or baby bananas into the batter to coat thoroughly.

Fry bananas in hot oil for 3 to 4 minutes per side until deep golden brown.

Transfer to paper towels to drain and serve warm.
