Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. 1

Dry 1 lb trimmed fresh green beans thoroughly with paper towels — excess moisture causes steaming instead of crisping.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, toss the green beans with 2 tbsp olive oil, 4 cloves minced garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper, and 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes until evenly coated.

  3. 3

Preheat the air fryer to 390°F. Spread the green beans in the basket in as close to a single layer as possible.

  4. 4

Air fry at 390°F for 5 minutes. Toss or shake, then continue cooking 4-5 more minutes until beans are tender with blistered, lightly charred spots.

  5. 5

Immediately transfer to a serving dish. Squeeze 2 tsp fresh lemon juice over the top and shower with 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese. Toss once and serve hot.
