Beef Shawarma
Thinly sliced flank steak marinated in citrus and warm spices, then seared hot for crisp edges and juicy meat.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 0.5 tsp ground allspice
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper, ground

In a large bowl, whisk together 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 4 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp ground coriander, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 0.5 tsp ground allspice, 1 tsp kosher salt, and 0.5 tsp ground black pepper.

Add 1.5 lbs thinly sliced flank steak to the marinade, toss to coat thoroughly, and let rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.

Heat a skillet over high heat until very hot.

Add the marinated flank steak in a single layer and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and the internal temperature reaches 145°F.

Remove skillet from heat and rest meat for 3 minutes before serving.
