Hoisin Dipping Sauce
A rich, garlicky dipping sauce made with hoisin, peanut butter, and sesame oil. The classic accompaniment for Vietnamese fresh spring rolls, Peking duck, and lettuce wraps.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
- 2 tbsp warm water
- 2 tsp fresh lime juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp red chili flakes
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts, crushed

In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup hoisin sauce, 2 tbsp natural peanut butter, and 2 tbsp warm water until smooth.

Add 2 tsp fresh lime juice, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp toasted sesame oil, and 1/4 tsp red chili flakes.

Stir thoroughly to incorporate all ingredients.

Taste and adjust with more hoisin, lime, or chili as desired.

Pour into a serving bowl and garnish with 2 tbsp crushed roasted peanuts.
