Spiced Apple Cider
A deeply aromatic hot apple cider simmered on the stovetop with whole cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and orange slices. The perfect warming drink for fall and winter.
Ingredients
- 6 cups fresh-pressed apple cider
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 8 whole cloves
- 2 whole star anise
- 1 navel orange, sliced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 8 whole allspice berries

Combine 6 cups fresh-pressed apple cider, 2 cinnamon sticks, 8 whole cloves, 2 whole star anise, 8 whole allspice berries, 1 sliced navel orange, and 2 tbsp brown sugar in a large saucepan.

Heat over medium heat until the cider just begins to simmer. Do not boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes to allow the spices to fully infuse the cider.

Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove all solids.

Ladle into mugs and garnish each with a cinnamon stick and an orange slice. Serve hot.
