Grilled Octopus
Tender grilled octopus with olive oil, lemon, and garlic. A classic Greek dish with a smoky char and delicate, succulent texture.
Ingredients
- 3 lbs octopus, cleaned and cut into pieces, cleaned, cut
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced, minced
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp sea salt
- to taste black pepper
- 1 fresh lemon wedges
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped, chopped

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 3 lbs cleaned, cut octopus, cleaned and cut into pieces and simmer for 30-40 minutes until tender (the octopus should be easily pierced with a fork).

Drain 3 lbs cleaned, cut octopus, cleaned and cut into pieces and let cool slightly. Pat dry with paper towels.

In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, 4 cloves minced garlic, minced, 2 tsp dried oregano, 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, 1 tsp sea salt, and to taste black pepper.

Toss 3 lbs cleaned, cut octopus, cleaned and cut into pieces with the marinade and let sit for at least 15 minutes.

Preheat a grill or grill pan to high heat (450°F). Lightly oil the grill grates.

Grill 3 lbs cleaned, cut octopus, cleaned and cut into pieces for 2-3 minutes per side until charred and heated through.

Transfer to a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining marinade. Garnish with 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, chopped and serve with 1 fresh lemon wedges.
