Swiss Apple Tart
Crispy pastry topped with thinly sliced apples in a buttery crust. A rustic, elegant dessert with a perfect balance of apple and pastry.
Ingredients
- 1 Thawed puff pastry sheet
- 4 lbs Granny Smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 6 tbsp Granulated sugar
- 4 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp Butter (cold, diced), diced
- 4 tbsp Apricot jam

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Place 1 Thawed puff pastry sheet on a baking sheet and prick lightly with a fork.

Toss 4 lbs peeled and thinly sliced Granny Smith apples with 6 tbsp Granulated sugar, 4 tbsp Brown sugar, 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon, and 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice.

Arrange apples on the pastry in overlapping rows, leaving a 1-inch border.

Dot with pieces of 2 tbsp diced Butter (cold, diced).

Bake for 30-35 minutes until the pastry is golden and apples are tender.

While tart is baking, warm 4 tbsp Apricot jam in a small saucepan.

Remove tart from oven and brush with the warm jam for a glossy finish.

Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
