Sardines with Misua
A savory Filipino soup made with canned sardines in tomato sauce and delicate wheat misua noodles. It is a quick and comforting dish best enjoyed warm.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cans canned sardines in tomato sauce
- 4 cups water
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 bundles misua noodles
- 2 stalks green onion, chopped

Heat 2 tbsp cooking oil in a pot over medium heat.

Sauté 4 cloves minced garlic and 1 small diced yellow onion until soft and translucent, about 3 minutes.

Add 2 cans canned sardines in tomato sauce with their tomato sauce and gently break them into smaller pieces.

Pour in 4 cups water and 1 tbsp fish sauce, bringing the liquid to a boil.

Stir in 2 bundles misua noodles and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until tender.

Garnish with 2 stalks chopped green onion and remove from heat before serving.
