A comforting German soup made with fresh green beans, tender potatoes, bacon, and aromatic summer savory.
Ingredients

- 1 cup carrots, sliced
- 2 cups Yukon Gold potatoes, cubed
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp dried summer savory
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper

In a large soup pot over medium heat, render 6 slices chopped thick-cut bacon until cooked through and crisp, ensuring it reaches an internal temperature of 145 F.

Add 1 cup diced yellow onion and 1 cup sliced carrots to the pot, sauteing in rendered bacon fat for 5 minutes until softened.
