Beef Suya
Thinly sliced beef skewers coated in a spicy, nutty yaji seasoning and grilled over high heat. Served fresh with crisp red onion slices.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef top sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 cup defatted peanut powder
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 beef bouillon cube, crushed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced

In a bowl, mix 1 cup defatted peanut powder, 2 tsp cayenne pepper, 2 tsp ground ginger, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, and 2 crushed beef bouillon cube to form the yaji spice blend.

Thread 2 lbs thinly sliced beef top sirloin steak onto soaked wooden skewers.

Brush beef skewers with 2 tbsp vegetable oil and coat generously on all sides with the yaji spice blend.

Preheat grill to high heat, around 450 degrees F.

Grill skewers for 2 to 3 minutes per side until charred, ensuring meat internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.

Transfer to a platter and serve with 1 thinly sliced red onion.
