Sardinas Grelhadas
Fresh grilled sardines with a simple preparation of sea salt, lemon, and olive oil. A classic Portuguese coastal dish that's healthy, flavorful, and ready in minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh sardines (cleaned gutted), cleaned gutted
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon fresh lemon, cut into wedges
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

Pat the 2 lbs cleaned gutted fresh sardines (cleaned gutted) dry with paper towels. Place on a plate and drizzle with 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil.

Season both sides generously with 1/2 tsp sea salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper.

Oil the grill grate lightly to prevent sticking.

Place sardines on the hot grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side without moving them.

Carefully flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish is cooked through and the skin is slightly charred.

Transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle with additional 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, squeeze fresh 1 lemon cut into wedges fresh lemon juice over top, and garnish with 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley.

Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
