White Bean Soup with Ham
A hearty Louisiana inspired soup combining creamy white beans, savory smoked ham, and aromatic Cajun spices.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 lb smoked ham, diced
- 2 cans cannellini beans, rinsed
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 bay leaf

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add 1 medium diced yellow onion, 2 diced celery stalks, and 1 diced green bell pepper, cooking for 5 minutes until soft.

Stir in 4 minced garlic cloves and 1 tsp Cajun seasoning, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add 1 lb diced smoked ham, 2 cans rinsed cannellini beans, 4 cups chicken broth, and 1 bay leaf.

Bring soup to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes until flavors combine and ham reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
