Egg Tart
A classic pastry featuring delicate egg custard encased in a flaky, buttery shell. These tarts offer a silky texture with a balanced, subtle sweetness.
Ingredients
- 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Dissolve 1/2 cup granulated sugar in 1 cup hot water on the stovetop over low heat, then set aside to cool completely.

Whisk 4 beaten large eggs, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract together in a medium bowl.

Stir the cooled sugar syrup into the egg mixture, then strain the custard through a fine mesh sieve.

Roll out 2 thawed puff pastry sheets, cut into circles, and press each round into tart molds.
