Soy Butter Egg Rice
A classic Korean comfort dish of hot steamed rice tossed with butter, soy sauce, and toasted sesame oil, finished with fried eggs.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Place hot 2 cups cooked white rice into serving bowls and mix in 1 tbsp unsalted butter, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tsp toasted sesame oil until melted and incorporated.

Heat 1 tsp vegetable oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Crack 2 eggs into the skillet and fry until the egg whites are set but yolks remain runny.

Slide fried eggs over the seasoned rice and garnish with 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds before serving.
